Chinese Collections

In the first half of the 20th century, the museum focused primarily on ancient Chinese art. In the 1950s, it began to include modern painting. Today, thanks notably to donations, the museum is enriching its collections of both ancient and contemporary art.


Japanese Collections

Comprising more than 3,600 pieces, including some 2,000 bronzes and 1,600 ceramics, the Japanese collection makes up one third of the Cernuschi Museum collection.

Korean collection

Korean works have formed part of the Cernuschi Museum’s collection since its foundation. In recent years, the Korean collection has been expanding continuously.

Vietnamese Collections

The Vietnamese collection of 1,800 artefacts spans a period of 2,500 years, with the oldest objects dating from the 5th century BC. Numerous ceramics and several bronzes illustrate later periods. The collection also includes paintings and drawings from the 20th century.
