The Yaozhou kilns were located around Huangbaozhen, in the Tongchuan district, in the centre of Shaanxi province. This small box with an extremely refined greyish olive-green glaze is adorned with a large open lotus flower, a motif frequently found on bowls and vases of this kind produced in the 12th and 13th centuries.
